New to AI? Start with Claude

These are built for Claude, Anthropic's AI. It is the one we trust to actually do the work, not just chat. Setup takes a few minutes and you only do it once.

1

Sign up free at claude.ai. Use your Google account or an email. Free to start.

2

Download the Claude desktop app and open it. To let Claude work alongside you on your real files and accounts (this is called Cowork), you will want Claude Pro, about $20 a month.

3

Find a prompt below and click Send to Claude. Paste it (Cmd+V on Mac, Ctrl+V on Windows) and press enter.

4

Where you see words in [BRACKETS], swap in your own details and send.

Free to start, and you cannot break anything. If the answer is not quite right, just tell Claude what to fix in plain words, like talking to a helper.

Want Claude to use your own data? Connect it once

Once Claude can see your inbox, calendar, and files, a lot of these prompts get easier, because Claude pulls the details itself instead of you copying and pasting. This uses Cowork in the desktop app. Set it up once and forget it.

First: turn on Cowork
  1. Open the Claude desktop app and keep it open while you work.
  2. At the top you will see a selector with Chat and Cowork. Click Cowork.
  3. That is the mode where Claude can work on your files and connected accounts.
Email and calendar (Gmail, Google Calendar)
  1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Find Google, click Connect, and sign in with your shop's Google account.
  3. Approve the access. Now you can ask Claude to draft replies, find an email, or check your calendar.
Files and spreadsheets (Google Drive, or your computer)
  1. For Google Drive or Sheets: in Settings > Connectors, connect Google Drive and approve access.
  2. For files on your computer: make a folder (say "Coffee Shop" on your desktop) and, in Cowork, point Claude at it. Claude can read and update what is inside.
  3. Drop your spreadsheets and notes in that folder so Claude can use them.
Your numbers (POS, scheduling, accounting)
  1. Most of these (Toast, Square, your scheduling and payroll apps) do not plug into Claude directly yet.
  2. The easy workaround: in those tools, export the report you need, save it to your Claude folder, and tell Claude to read it.
  3. That is the "Bring some data" step you will see on some prompts below.

Heads up: Cowork and connectors need a paid Claude plan (Pro, about $20 a month). Plain chatting and pasting prompts is free. Menus move sometimes, so if a name looks different, look for Settings then Connectors.
